Some Activities for the letter Daal

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

One of the best words to teach the letter daal is the word du'aa! With autumn here alhamdulillah, that means rainstorms, thunder and maybe a bit of lightening...waallaahu alim. This is a great time to teach the ad'iyah related to this type of weather insha'Allaah.

Here are two file folder games that can be used with the letter Daal insha'Allah: One for teaching the different ad'iyah (with some number practice/teaching) and another for teaching the letter Daal itself insha'Allah.

In the picture, I printed the umbrellas without the letters and with (I didn't do that on purpose...*smile*). In the file, I included two pages of umbrellas with the letter daal on them and one page of blank umbrellas (as pictured). This way you can have the child match the letters on each umbrella insha'Allaah or by colour. The game was played and enjoyed here and I simply pointed out that each of the umbrellas has the letter daal on them and asked that they please match the correct colour umbrellas.

I forgot to mention: As you probably noticed in the picture, I made the pieces for this game rounded to preserve the handles of the umbrellas. This way toddler hands can easily manipulate each piece without the threat of the umbrella handles breaking/tearing *smile*.

Oh! Sister Saraa from UmmahReads also sent me this great link that has FREE du'a posters to download. They're beautiful masha'Allaah! They also have books that I really am eager to read insha'Allaah *smile*. Jazakillahu Khayr sis Saraa!

There is also a postcard for the letter Daal too alhamdulillah *smile*.

Enjoy insha'Allaah!
