February Book Selection for Together We Read

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

The book we will use for Together We Read: February is Castles, Caves, and Honeycombs

This story is a fun poem that teaches children about homes: how they are different for people and animals in regards to their shape, size, texture, etc. The story also highlights that homes are for playing in, sharing things with your family inside of them, and being safe and secure inside of them as well.

Insha'Allaah, we will incorporate ayaat from the Quran where Allaah mentions the homes of different animals and also where He mentions the homes of human beings. We will also include, insha'Allaah, some authentic ahadith wherein the Prophet (sallallaaahu alayhi wa salam) taught us about manners of entering and leaving the home, how to treat guests who come to your home, etc.

You can also find wonderful ideas to use with the book in this Castle, Caves and Honeycombs Activity Guide.

Insha'Allaah, this book is available at your local libarary and you can also find it on Amazon.com

Insha'Allaah, I will post the activities on February 15th and I hope you will join us too! Remember, you do not have to use the same book. Pick any book your child(ren) may enjoy, sit down together and enjoy the reading. If you do any activities that you would like to share, there will be a linky that will allow you to do so insha'Allaah.

Enjoy insha'Allaah!

We just started "Allah gave us shelter to live" week of our Preschool curriculum...
We are going to study about different homes too inshaAllah and we got a nice book from the library. Maybe that could be our book for February Together We Read program inshaAllah.

Can't wait to see the activities inshaAllah.
