A'salaamu alaikum ya ukhti. I think it's nice to do giveaways in Ramadhan. If the sister and her family are in need, they can keep it for their child for the Eid. If not, they can give it as sadaqa.

LIke Umm Aaminah said, it could help a sister whose having a hard financial time share something with her children or something a sis can give as sadaqah to someone in her area, insha Allah.
