Together We Read Program During Ramadan

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

I have not announced which book will be featured in August for Together We Read during the month of Ramadan. But...

As Ramadan is the month of Quran, that will be our focus insha'Allah: to read from it in abundance insha'Allah. There are many, many stories from the Quran that we hope to read during this blessed month insha'Allah.

{185, سورة البقرة }

The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion (between right and wrong). {Al-Baqarah; ayah 185}

The stories from the Quran are:

- The Story of Habil and Qabil
- The Story of Harut and Marut
- The Story of the Dwellers of the Town
- The Story of the Cow
- The Story of Musa and Khidr
- The Story of Qarun
- The Story of Bilqis
- The Story of Saba
- The Story of 'Uzair
- The Story of Dhul Qarnain
- The Story of Jug and Majooj
- The Story of the People of the Cave
- The Story of the Believer & the Disbeliever
- The Story of the People of the Garden
- The Story of the Sabbath Breakers
- The Story of Luqman
- The Story of the People of the Ditch
- The Story of Barsisa
- The Story of the Owners of the Elephant

These stories can be read in the Quran itself walhamdulillah and you can read them in the book, Stories of the Quran by Ibn Kathir.

Even the newborn child can enjoy the ayaat of Allah as he/she is held. This is also a way that mum can calmly include Quran reading in her day insha'Allah. Many infants can enjoy being read aloud to from five to thirty minutes at a time masha'Allah and what better book to read to your child than the Quran.

I have not yet decided if activities will be done with some (or all) of these stories but as this is a month dedicated to 'ibadah, Quran and du'aa, I am inclined to say that, no, most likely activities will be light as we endeavour to embrace the spirit of Ramadan and reap the abundant rewards to be gained during this blessed month insha'Allah.

As this blessed month approaches, I sincerely hope that Allah allows us to hasten to gain the rewards that He has promised to His believing slaves.

  3. Assalamu alaikum,

    I like the idea of learning about stories from Qur'an (maybe followed by a small arts and crafts activity inshaAllah) during Ramadan. Thank you for sharing sister.
