  4. assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi,

We have covered the Sadaqa topic last year during the Ramadan month, this year inshaAllah we also plan to learn more on this subject biiznillah. Last year we used lots of brochures and small leaflets from Islamic magazines and Islamic Relief organization. They were very helpful and my kids even though they very very young (2 and 1) could understand what it means to give charity/zakah for the needy. We made our own sadaqa box (still have it) to collect some money and sent it to needy children who don't have a house, food, clothing etc.
So, it would be helpful for us to learn more about Sadaqa in our upcoming activities inshaAllah.
    JazakhAllahu khayr,
    assalamu alaikum

  6. Assalamu 'alaykum

It's difficult these days to teach about sadaqa since those of us who live in the West are blessed with so much, and hardly do we see any one that is needy in the community that would encourage us to give sadaqa. Thankfully, each year through zakaah and during Ramadan we are reminded about being compassionate and giving but that is mostly for adults. Anything that would help bring this subject closer to children and more interesting would be helpful.

  7. As Salaamu Alaykum Wa Rahmahtuallahi Wa Barakatuh, Oh Masha Allah! This is so neat! I have always serached for activities to teach my children about saqaqah. My now 3 yr old son would absolutely love this game since he is such a loving boy. He loves to share and give, masha Allah. I would love to touch on the subject and actively show him examples of giving sadaqah especially during Ramadan, insha Allah. Jazakallahu Khair sis for sharing all you do. *hug*

  9. Assalaamu Alaikum!

Masha Allaah this looks very nice and my daughter would love it. She already knows the 5 pillars of Islaam and has started collecting money in a till to help the poor and the needy, this game board will help her more on this Insha Allaah and she would learn the importance of sadaqah while having some fun too.

Jazzakillaah Khayr sis for all your effort.

  12. As Salaamu Alaikum wa rahmatullah
I will introduce the concept of giving sadaqah to my almost 3 year old daughter using this. as she begins to understand the concept in the most appropriate way for her development I will have her possibly try to look for things of her own that she would like to give away as sadaqah.

  13. Mashallah Sister, thank you for all the wonderful ideas. I love them and i cant wait to do more projects with my 5 year old daughter. I checked out the Smart Ark site and it has some wonderful things. I would love the Charity game to help teach my daughter more about charity and that we can do more than just donate money to help others. She really loves playing Salon and cash register so this game would be a fun way to incorporate lessons about charity in the little store setting. Thanks again for all the ideas. May Allah bless you and your family.

  14. Jazak-Allah for all your wonderful ideas. Well looking at the picture of the box, it says “Collect the most items to win . . . . and help the needy too.”
I would very much like to use this game to bring home that message to my children. We work hard in life to be “successful”. However the real success will be when we are willing to part with what we have for the pleasure of Allah.
“You will not attain true goodness until you give of what you love. Whatever you give away, Allah knows it. (Surah Al-Imran V92)
